PLAYS

Jack Scoltock’s first performed play was called, Hope In The Derry Workhouse. This was played by the Workhouse Players in the Playhouse Derry in 1995. Since then Jack has had five plays performed by Northern Ireland’s Special Needs Theatre Group the Lilliput Players. Hope in the Derry Workhouse has been adapted and will be performed by the Lilliput players in 2007. Other plays jack wrote for the Group are, Ouija, The Atheist, Last Train to Belfast, The Tractor and the play/panto, Quest For The Seven Dwarfs.

Jack was commissioned on behalf of the Playhouse in Derry by Pauline Ross and Jonathan Burgess, who are two of Derry’s foremost producers and directors, to write a play for children from one of his stories. In 2007 the play, The Lost Magic is to go on tour and be performed professionally with four adults playing multiple parts. It promises to be a huge success. In May 2006 Jack’s Play, "Quest For The Seven Dwarfs" was performed by the Ulidian Youth Theatre Group under the directorship of John Magowan at the Waterside Theatre.

Jack Scoltock also writes screenplays. He has written several from some of his children’s novels and short stories. He is working on a screenplay on Patrick's Gift.
